Granite is a very hard stone formed by nature over hundreds of millions of years from the Earth's molten core. It comes in a wide range of colours, many with an attractive movement and some with almost holographic sparkle and intensity of colour. Granite can be supplied in different finishes - high polish, matt or textured, depending on the application. Its hard-wearing properties make it ideal for kitchen worktops.
Quartz composites are much harder than granite and, when formed with pigments and resins into slabs, produces a hard-wearing, non-porous material which is lighter than granite, while retaining the physical and mechanical characteristics of natural stone. The surface is stain and chip resistant. It also comes in a variety of different colours.
